Welcoming Ryan Wiggins to Selectron

In September, we hosted our annual internal Selectron Week. This event brings the whole organization together, with remote team members flying in from across the country to our central HQ in Portland, Oregon. This is both an opportunity for members of the organization to participate in educational sessions with leadership and also to activate growth and cohesion across departments.   

As part of this special event, we hosted Ryan Wiggins, the Building Director for Polk County, Florida. Mr. Wiggins has over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry and the Building and Planning department with Polk County. In a conversation led by COO Dan Porter and EVP of Sales Matt Corbin, he shared valuable insights into the industry and the challenges being faced by building departments in his area today.

During this conversation, they also discussed how Selectron’s partnership with Polk County has initiated new opportunities for both parties to continue to make better possible. This included the development of a new feature designed to enhance customer communications at Polk County, which is called Up Next.

Up Next allows inspectors to notify contractors and homeowners that they are “up next” in line and that the inspector will be arriving shortly. For Polk County’s solution we deployed Up Next via Atlas Inspections, but it can also be deployed without Inspections, as a light standalone application integrated with Atlas Insight.

Mr. Wiggins described the tremendous improvements within Polk County’s inspections process after the introduction of their Selectron solutions, including:

• 80% reduction in time spent on inspection assignments
• An average of 6 more inspections per inspector being resulted every day
• A vast reduction of in-bound calls to the office 

It was an honor to have Mr. Wiggins on site, both to enjoy his company and insights, and also to celebrate the wins that his agency has achieved. Understanding the impact that our solutions have on day-to-day operations sparked inspiration across the organization.
